Shopping Lesson in 4 Parts

This idea was contributed by: cjmiyake. This is a Full Lesson for Elementary School.

Shopping Dialogue

Materials/Requirements

Vocabulary Cards, Various Picture Cards for the stores. Money, I used photocopied 1 and 5 dollar bills.

Procedure

The procedure is written in the attached worksheet. I did this activity in 4 parts during a one week visit to an Elementary School. I did it with 4th, 5th, and 6th grade Elementary school students. It went really well. The kids loved the shopping at the end, and the lessons were fairly well paced.

If I did it again I would spend a little more time reviewing the numbers, but the games all worked well and the shopping on the last day was good.

As far as the level of my students they only get one visit a year. That is about 4 - 45 minute classes in one year. So this plan might be a little slow if your students are of a higher level.
